In October 2015, USAID updated guidance to better systematize the consideration of climate variability and change in development of country and regional strategies. Additional guidance for USAID policies, projects and activities became effective in October 2016. The resources below provide details.

Training

  • Climate Resilient Development 101 – This 2-hour online course uses interactive features and videos to introduce fundamental concepts of climate resilient development, including how climate impacts are affecting key development sectors. The course includes a practical module, which helps users learn how to conduct a climate risk assessment using USAID’s Climate Risk Screening and Management Tool. USAID staff wishing to receive continuous learning credit for this course should search for this title in USAID University.
  • What is the Climate Risk Management Process? – This 60-90 minute introduction walks you through each step in the CRM process. Brief descriptions, 2-3 minute videos and interactive questions provide an overview of the process. Or skip to a specific step so you can easily get advice on whatever aspect of CRM you may currently be working on. USAID staff wishing to receive continuous learning credit for this course should search for this title in USAID University. Staff and partners of USAID’s OTI, ASHA and DRG Offices should access their office-specific versions of this course.
