Introduction to the Climate Risk Management Process (Office-Specific Versions)

This page provides versions of this course specific to the needs of USAID’s OTI, ASHA and DRG Offices. If you are not implementing CRM for these offices, please access the standard version of this course.

In this interactive e-learning course, USAID staff and partners can explore the full climate risk management (CRM) process, from planning through implementation. This course contains videos, activities, and knowledge checks. It walks through the entire CRM process, but also allows you to skip to specific steps so you can easily get advice on whatever aspect of CRM you may currently be working on.

The course focuses on CRM for activity design, implementation, and monitoring, evaluation and learning, but also explains how CRM flows through USAID’s program cycle and provides tips for strategies and projects as well. The course covers the four phases of CRM:

  • Plan for a climate risk screening / assessment;
  • Conduct a climate risk screening / assessment;
  • Incorporate results of the climate risk screening / assessment; and
  • Implement and adaptively manage.

Videos and interactive content explain the steps within each phase. Helpful resources may be accessed through an interactive graphic and at each phase.
