Colombia Low Carbon Resilient Development Program (LCRD)
USAID Managing Unit: Colombia
Place of Implementation: Colombia
Project Period: 2014-2017
Partner: U.S. Forest Service
The Colombia LCRD program builds on what has been achieved to date through USAID Enhancing Capacity for Low Emission Development Strategies (EC-LEDS) work by combining low carbon and adaptation interventions at the national, subnational and local levels. The project works with intermediate cities (Pasto, Riohacha, and Valledupar) to help accelerate or unlock local investments in low carbon resilient interventions and enhance longer term climate oriented local planning processes. The project carries out an initial participatory assessment to identify climate stressors, vulnerability conditions, key interventions zones and adaptation options in both rural and urban settings.
Key themes: adaptation, mitigation, LEDS, urban, climate finance, governance, vulnerability assessment, carbon
