We need to build awareness of the health and development gains that cleaner air can deliver, as well as a shared understanding of pollution sources and solutions. The “end of tailpipe, top of smokestack” approach will not be enough to stem the tide of emissions that is warming the atmosphere and causing a global public health crisis--we also need a forward-looking approach that builds clean air into public investment, urban planning, infrastructure and service finance. This discussion will focus on the synergies between climate, health and air quality action; and highlight the need for an integrated approach across sectors, government and society. Speakers: Stientje van Veldhoven (moderator), Vice President and Regional Director of Europe, World Resources Institute Gillian Caldwell, Climate Change Coordinator, USAID Elena Villalobos Prats, Technical Officer, World Health Organization Anies Baswedan, Governor of Jakarta A link to the virtual event will be shared in the registration confirmation email.
