Regional Training Course on Emissions Trading, Latin American and Caribbean countries, Bogotá Colombia
The International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) will convene a Regional Training Course on Emissions Trading for participants from Latin American and Caribbean countries. The course will take place from November 12-21, 2019 in Bogotá, Colombia.
The course will convey an in-depth understanding of emissions trading as an instrument to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and build capacity on the technical design and implementation of carbon trading systems taking into account the specific needs and interests of developing countries. Over the span of eight course days, the course will provide a curriculum dedicated to emissions trading as a policy instrument for climate policy, and provide illustration through many hands-on examples, practical experience and case studies. Applicants should be stakeholders from the nongovernmental, academic and private sectors as well as policy makers who are or will be involved in deciding on, designing and implementing ETS.
The ICAP Training Course is open to applicants from Latin America and the Caribbean countries.
The application deadline is Thursday September 19, 2019 at Midnight (Central European Time).
The course will be conducted in English. Applications are to be submitted in English and should include
- Curriculum Vitae (up to 2 pages)
- Letter of motivation stating your personal interest in the course, its relevance for your career in relation to recent developments of greenhouse gas emissions trading (ETS) in your jurisdiction, and how you intend to use the knowledge acquired through the course in light of possible future ETS developments (up to 2 pages)
- Extra supporting documents (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS) are optional.
