The U.S. Agency for International Development is supporting a Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Suppliers Forum to help U.S. companies interested in selling products and services for utility-scale applications in developing countries.  This free, one-day event will take place in Denver, Colorado on May 1, 2018 (the day before the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's Emerging Markets Day and two days before NREL's Industry Growth Forum).

The Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Suppliers Forum will:

  • Highlight opportunities for selling equipment, technologies, and services in key regional markets
  • Offer guidance on working with partners and potential sources of financing and investment.
  • Discuss competitiveness challenges and export strategies and approaches
  • Facilitate networking with partners and investors working in each market

The forum will primarily focus on equipment sales for utility-scale wind and solar power, smart transmission and distribution, related information and communication technologies, and demand-response tools. It will also focus on provision of technical services for utility and grid planning, reverse power auctions, grid integration of variable renewable energy, and renewable energy zones.

Participants will include:

  • Large-scale renewable energy developers and technology providers, with an emphasis on wind and solar
  • Smart grid technology and service providers
  • Providers of technical services, such as on renewable energy zones, reverse auctions, variable renewable energy integration
  • Utilities working toward large-scale renewable energy integration
  • Sources of financing and investments

If you are a U.S. supplier of technology or services interested in accessing new international markets or expanding your sales in developing country markets, the Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Suppliers Forum is for you.
