Adaptation Results Framework
This framework lays out a path for increasing the resilience of people, places and livelihoods through investments in climate adaptation.
It starts with three intermediate results (IRs): Improve access to science and analysis for decision-making; identify and disseminate actions that increase resilience to climate change; and establish effective governance systems.
This is followed by further set of results identified to achieve them. The framework document explains each objective and why each intermediate result – and sub-sections – is needed in order to achieve the objectives.
For example, one sub-IR focuses on providing information about approaches, practices, and tools to reduce climate change vulnerability. This result hypothesizes that if USAID can communicate and disseminate information about successful adaptive strategies - and identify and help overcome obstacles to and create incentives for widespread adoption - then other organizations and stakeholders will widely adopt and put those strategies in place.
