Nepal Climate Change Gender Action Plan (ccGAP) Report
This report details Nepal’s national action plan on gender and climate change. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Gender Office embarked on a multi-stakeholder process to identify and understand the importance of gender and climate change as well as identify possible areas of actions/interventions for an action plan on gender and climate change in Nepal.
This Climate Change Gender Action Plan (ccGAP) focuses on six priority areas: agriculture and food security, forests and reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), water, energy, health and urbanization. This strategy also considers cross-cutting issues including communication and outreach, financial mechanisms and disaster risk reduction. This report highlights a proposed multi-stakeholder Gender and Climate Change Task Force to be formed by the Government of Nepal to be able to further the priority areas outlined in the Action Plan.
