RALI Fact Sheet
The Resources to Advance LEDS Implementation (RALI) project is helping developing countries speed their transition to climate resilient, low emission, sustainable economic growth. This factsheet explains what that program provides and specific tools that it uses.
RALI helps countries by sharing lessons learned, showing how to quantify greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and supporting evidence-based decision making. The international community can use these tools as standard approaches to improve measuring and reporting the longer-term impacts of LEDS projects.
Its initial focus is to support USAID in estimating and tracking the GHG impacts of clean energy programs. This will help streamline and make these efforts consistent.
RALI uses the Clean Energy Emission Reduction (CLEER) Protocol to guide estimation of GHG emissions reduced and/or avoided. The CLEER tool is a user-friendly web platform available to the public that helps users estimate and report GHG emissions that were avoided as a result of USAID-supported clean energy activities. It supports general renewable energy, energy efficiency and fuel switching actions.
