Workshop Report: Shifting Cultivation, Gender and REDD+ in West and Central Africa
This report contains information from the USAID and Forest Carbon, Markets and Communities (FCMC) Shifting Cultivation, Gender and Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries(REDD+) in West and Central Africa workshop that was attended by key thematic and regional experts.
This report is a synthesis of the workshop and presentations. Its format correlates with agenda-specific topics and includes an appendix of tools and resources that were identified at the workshop.
Information and considerations from this workshops were used to create a revised scope of work. Detailed information in the report includes highlights from the presentation “Global and Local Values of Shifting Cultivation,” an overview of CARPE, STEWARD and REDD+, as well as information on the policy relevance of the report.
