Launched in 2015, Climatelinks is a global knowledge portal for USAID staff, implementing partners, and the broader community working at the intersection of climate change and international development. The portal curates and archives technical guidance and knowledge related to USAID’s work to help countries mitigate and adapt to climate change.

We aim for this portal to improve climate change and development programming, amplifying the impact of USAID’s investments into the future. We hope Climatelinks becomes a place for development practitioners to help identify and refine practices, and to inform USAID’s technical direction in areas of information gaps.

USAID’s 10-year Hariyo Ban Program aims to increase ecosystem and community resilience in the Chitwan-Annapurna and Terai Arc landscapes. Its name means “green forests are the wealth of Nepal”—and in addition to providing natural resources for local people, forests play a vital role sequestering carbon, regulating water flows, stabilizing steep hillsides and conserving biodiversity.

Forest Incomes for Environmental Sustainability Final Report

The Forest Incomes for Environmental Sustainability (FIFES) activity was a five-year USAID initiative, implemented by ACDI/VOCA with sub awardees Pact and the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR). FIFES was designed to combat deforestation and loss of biodiversity while developing key rural forest-based enterprises that provide sustainable economic opportunities for farmers and forest-dependent communities. FIFES contributed to USAID/Liberia's overall sustainable economic growth program to promote equitable and sustainable market-led economic opportunities in Liberia, accompanied by improved natural resources management.
