Natural Climate Solutions

Natural climate solutions are actions to conserve, manage, and restore ecosystems to mitigate climate change. Natural climate solutions reduce greenhouse gas emissions and sequester carbon in natural ecosystems, like forests, mangroves, and wetlands, and managed systems, such as agricultural lands. USAID will work with countries to achieve ambitious emissions reductions and sequestration through natural climate solutions as part of USAID's Climate Strategy. The Agency's natural climate solutions programs focus on landscape planning and management; mobilizing finance for nature; improving laws and governance; building institutional capacity; making information accessible; and advancing equity.
