USAID 2024 Climate Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Series

USAID programs with climate change benefits are required to report against a set of standard indicators, each with its own definition and some with supplementary guidance. The 2024 Climate Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) webinar series was developed to improve reporting on these indicators. USAID staff and Implementing Partners (IPs) are encouraged to review the following recordings to explore key climate reporting topics, gain applicable knowledge to inform annual reporting processes and PPRs, and learn tips and tricks for navigating reporting and ensuring the quality of data in technical areas including adaptation, clean energy, sustainable landscapes, climate integration, and more. This information is relevant to all climate reporting, regardless of activity funding. These webinars build on guidance available in the following documents:

  • Climate Change Standard Indicator Handbook: This handbook lists the FY 2024 USAID and Department of State standard indicators for climate change and development. It includes definition sheets for each indicator and outlines dis-aggregates.
  • Climate Change Extended Standard Indicator Handbook: This handbook provides improved guidance that addresses common challenges that OUs and IPs face when designing, implementing, and reporting on climate activities. The document provides detailed analyses of various reporting scenarios, addresses frequently asked questions about indicator reporting, clarifies reporting requirements, and offers tips for troubleshooting common data collection or methodological problems experienced in the field.

Below are key resources and webinar recordings for 6 topics covered by the 2024 Climate MEL Learning Series. Additional public climate MEL resources are available on the Climate MEL Resources page. USAID staff also have access to internal resources.
